The Myth of Low Self-Esteem

Painless

The Painless program consists of 10 hours of conversation. This is split into five 2 hour sessions scheduled at your convenience. In the first session, I will introduce the medical explanations for chronic pain and share research and resources with you.  Our following sessions will be a deeper conversation about the Three Principles and how stress, pain and life situations can be understood from a place of insight. Understanding what is happening to your body calms the nervous system and brings relief.

More and more doctors, pain specialists and physical therapists are seeing the relationship between the mind and our physical experience. How many times have you seen a picture like this in a chiropractors office or in a pain medication advertisement and felt worse? Just the fact that the disc is in red is proven to produce anxious thoughts.

"Thinking we have a slipped disc has the potential to increase back pain! But what if this piece of knowledge is inaccurate. A disc is so firmly attached to its vertebrae it can never slip." Dr. Lorimer Moseley, Professor of Clinical Neurosciences and Foundation Chair in Physiotherapy at The University of Southern Australia.

In 1995, the British Medical Journal published a report about a builder who accidentally jumped onto a nail, which pierced straight through his steel-toed boot. He was in such agonizing pain that any movement was unbearable. But when the doctors took off his boot, they discovered that the nail had never touched his foot at all. What’s going on? Joshua W. Pate investigates the experience of pain.

  • How often have you found a bruise and not known how you got it? A bruise is tissue damage and yet there was no pain. Other times we can have a tiny paper cut and it kills!

  • The largest bone in the human body is the femur or thigh bone and yet is heals in 6 weeks. How come I was having pain from an injury that healed 25 years ago?

  • Why did I break out in a horrible skin rash called psoriasis in high school at exam time?

  • How can some people have herniated discs and no pain and others have no damage and be in chronic pain?

Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal and are equally clever at sending us signals that tell us we are stressed, overwhelmed or need to slow down.

"Your body is designed to heal"

This program is for anyone dealing with physical issues. Skin, including acne and eczema, migraine and tension headaches, allergies both airborne and food, stomach issues and IBS, cystitis, and asthma to name a few. When we are under stress the body gives us clues. I am not a doctor, I will not be prescribing or diagnosing anything. If you have any medical concerns please get them checked by your physician first. I will show you how an understanding of the mind will point you in the direction of your own wellbeing which will relax the nervous system and you can start to heal.
