When I used to get stressed I would speed up, I didn't mean to, it just happened. My heart started to beat a little faster, my muscles would tense and I got that butterflies in the stomach kinda feeling. Do you know what I mean? For the longest time, I didn't even notice it, I lived like that all the time! But now that I know what's happening, now that I understand that this is the amazing way our minds and bodies work together I see that it is actually a warning signal. It's a signal that I need to slow down. A signal that if I chose to ignore it might have to get even louder, God forbid. My life is pretty quiet these days and as a result, I can feel it when the butterflies start fluttering, and I'm so grateful because it means I'm human and I just need to slow down
